About

Diana Freitas

Social Worker, Psychotherapist, MSW, RSW (she, her)

Welcome and nice to meet you!

As a therapist I am dedicated to helping my clients live a more meaningful and fulfilling life. My approach is grounded in values of compassion, collaboration, and curiosity. I believe in being intentional and authentic in my work, creating a space where clients feel heard and supported.

In my practice, I see myself as equal to my clients, fellow humans navigating life’s challenges. I openly share my own use of the skills and strategies I work on with my clients, fostering a sense of shared experience and understanding.

My therapeutic approach is based on the model of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT implements acceptance and mindfulness together with behavioural change strategies to increase an individual’s ability to respond more flexibly towards, and better mange, difficult situations, thoughts, and feelings. You can expect your sessions to include both talking as well as experiential components.

I envision that our work together will lead you to a sense of peace and ease, an increase in confidence, and a stronger connection with your authentic self. My goal is to support you in living your values and embracing a more fulfilling life. This means being able to contact the present moment by being fully aware of your thoughts and feelings, while also being able to take actions and behave in a way that moves you towards what is truly meaningful and important for you.

I invite you to reach out and start this journey with me. Together, we can create a supportive and engaging space where you can feel motivated to make meaningful changes.

Psychotherapy fosters self-esteem and self-acceptance by challenging negative self-perceptions and promoting self-compassion. It helps individuals develop a more positive self-image and build confidence in their abilities.

Psychotherapy can improve interpersonal relationships by enhancing communication skills, fostering empathy, and resolving conflicts. It helps individuals navigate relationship challenges, develop healthier patterns, and cultivate more fulfilling connections.

Psychotherapy can assist individuals in identifying and modifying harmful or ineffective patterns of behaviour. It supports individuals in making positive changes, breaking free from destructive habits, and cultivating healthier lifestyle choices.

Psychotherapy can improve your problem-solving skills by helping you think more clearly and find effective solutions to the challenges you face.
